About

Cloud Nine is a rock group out of Boston, Massachusetts that revives the album-oriented rock era of the late 1960s and early 1970s through their lush arrangements, emotional musical expression, introspective lyrics and dreamlike soundscapes. The band’s debut album “Fever Dream” was released on April 10, 2020.

Cloud Nine’s inception occurred in a high school music theory class in 2011 attended by the band’s four founders, two of whom remain in the band today—drummer Mike Griffin and vocalist, keyboardist, bassist & songwriter Andrew Hazerjian. When the band needed a new guitar player in 2012, they invited Dan Lemieux—another classmate in 2011 music theory—to fill the role. In 2013, the band became a three-piece consisting of Mike, Andrew and Dan.

The band’s music touches on many elements of the album-oriented rock music of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Cloud Nine compositions take influence from various rock genres (progressive, arena, art, blues, psychedelic) and often convey escapist atmospheres behind self-reflective lyrics.

Cloud Nine released a four-song EP in 2016 titled “In My Head,” recorded at SilverE Studios in Walpole, MA. In late 2018, the band decided it was time to produce a full-length album. Tracking for the album began in early 2019 at Skyhouse Recording Studio in Norwood, MA. The concept album entitled “Fever Dream” was officially released on April 10, 2020.
